Let me start by saying that I had fond memories of this restaurant from when I was a kid when we had one in my own city. When I saw the ads on TV for them offering a combo special with dinner for two including appetizer, and dinner we figured we'd stop in on our next visit to the US when I had to deposit some money. When we first arrived, we were definitely concerned that there was going to be a bit of a wait however that was not the case. There was a small wait for tables of more than two, but it was not significant in any way. After being seated we were promptly offered a small sample of wine of which was a red wine that I don't normally drink. I wasn't particularly fond of it myself, but my partner enjoyed it. Service was relatively quick and it took a while for us to decide however she opted for the fettuccine and I went the Tuscan Chicken. From here on out it went downhill though as the first mistake was that our salad had no croutons. This was because the server gave ours to a table that had requested none. Since they and we had already started eating it was too late to take it back. The server then said that she would bring us some croutons, and never did. However, it got even worse after that when the food arrived. As soon as my dish arrived something did not look right about the chicken. I started to cut into a piece that had already been chopped up only to see that the inside of it was still pink. I waited for the server to come by, and immediately sent the entire dish back as who knows how that may have contaminated the dish (even if all the other pieces were cooked). Luckily the manager happened to be walking by at the exact same moment so she was also able to observe the uncooked chicken. At the time they tried to compensate by offering me a bowl of soup or something else, however I had wanted to try the dish so waited for a new one to be prepared. Needless to say, it is disappointing having to watch somebody else eat while you sit there. I will say however though, that they did a great job of making sure that I was compensating me by discounting the bill by the price of my meal. Unfortunately despite that, we left with a bit of a sour taste as the meals that we did get were lack luster at best. At this point in time, I'm not sure that we'll make the effort to give this one another shot, even though we like to gives places a second chance. It could just be the location, as they were quite busy on the day we went but that shouldn't change the taste of the dishes. They have many other things on the menu that we would like to have tried, but if we were paying full price for any of the dishes I would say that it is not really worth it. Dish sizes are good, but quality was under par.

I always sit at the bar. The staff there is very helpful and on point. The food is like every other OG, just a little faster and more well presented than normal. The entire establishment is very clean and well maintained. I stress this is a chain restaurant and in no way unique. However, if you are a fan of OG, which I am, then you will not be disappointed with this one. Tell Ryanee or Rob at the bar that Anthony sent ya :)

Yes I know, it is an Olive Garden. Yes I know most chain restaurants don't deserve more than 3 stars. However the food here is on the upper end for an OG, and I have never had bad service. The fact that they seem to be able to get and keep good waitstaff and turn out consistently good if not cookie cutter chain food is an accomplishment in itself in the dining purgatory that is Port Huron.

I love the service here they are so friendly...the food is mediocre but the soups make up for it and the only dish I can say I love love love is a pasta dish with a garlicky cream sauce and medallion chicken slices. Damn it's good!

On 2/14/14 my family including my boyfriend and his mother went to O.G for an early dinner. I ordered the mixed grill (b/c years ago it was delicious) and when it came to the table it wasn't at all like it used to be and it looked gross- I kick myself for not taking a pic. I decided to give it a try anyway. The "steak" and "chicken" both had a strange texture and taste- I couldn't do it, I couldn't/wouldn't subject my taste buds to this so I returned it and ordered the salmon. Does no one return food at O.G?? The waiter seemed taken aback and it took forever to get my salmon- everyone else in my party had finished their food. The manager came over and asked if it was better and I told him yes and it was even though the salmon was dry- nothing a ton of lemon couldn't fix- well, maybe not but I didn't want to spit it into my napkin like I did w/ the "steak/chicken". Everyone else liked their food which consisted of lobster cannelloni, grilled salmon, baked tilapia w/ shrimp, and seafood alfredo The minestrone was good and the others liked the salad and bread sticks- they were very buttery So- avoid the mixed grill at all costs and you should be okay. The bathroom was clean, the service was just okay, the restaurant was freezing- the people behind us moved tables- turn down the air- it's February and 10 degrees outside I have no will or want to return to this or any O.G for that matter as I personally feel this Darden chain has gone way down hill and it would take a lot to get it back on track.

I have had mixed experiences at this Olive garden. It was very slow to start when the restaurant first opened but they have seem to really get there act together. It is a must see for any Olive Garden fan because it is a different building set up and type then the traditional Olive Gardens. On a sad note the opening of this chain did close down a local Italian eatery just down the road. Booo for chain eateries.

This place (as well as ALL Olive Gardens) has the best Italian Food around! Be snobish....stick your nose up at me...I dont care. All the Mom and Pop "Old World Italian" places don't cut it. I have been to places where people say it is food from the old country. I end up leaving thinking it should have been left there because there is no taste and the sauces have no flavor and service is just meh. Olive Garden is amazingly great! Sauces are always full of flavor and never runny. Specials are always worth trying and food is fresh and cooked to order!! Great value for the price! And the breadsticks....OMG the breadsticks! :-D The reason I chose to review THIS location is because they have the BEST service! Olive Garden is known for good service, but this location is top notch! My Husband and I stop here on Friday's on our way up to our cottage. It will be prime time dinner rush and we usually get seated quickly. Servers are always very nice, good at making suggestions and have no problem taking special orders. (The Hubs tends to try getting away with making his own creations) Managers are usually around asking customers how things are, refilling drinks or running food. It is really nice to see (as a former server myself) a manager helping the crew instead of standing by watching. I am normally not a big fan of chain eateries, but Olive Garden is THE exception.

Laugh all you want, but the Olive Garden has some of the best food in Port Huron. It's also one of the fancier places. I used to scoff at the idea of dining at Olive Garden, but it's really not *that* bad. At Olive Garden, the quality of food is consistent. I bet most food snobs wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Olive Garden and your run-of-the-mill Italian eatery in a blind taste test. As a vegetarian, I can find a few things to eat here. I've never had trouble eating here, but I stick to their pastas. I love me some pasta. The waitress we had was efficient and super nice. We left a good tip for her. (Is it odd that I find service at Olive Garden to be consistent too?) Don't forget that you get free soup or salad and garlic breadsticks, AND the chocolate mints that come with your bill. Yum!

Stopped in for dinner with the girlfriend after shopping all day, after having a late lunch we found ourselves not too hungry and thought to just split an entree, since you get unlimited salad and breadsticks anyways. Personally I thought the service was excellent, we had an older lady and she was very prompt with everything and very nice as well. The food on the other hand was more average, we ordered some kind of shrimp and scallop fettucine Alfredo dish, although the portion was large it was kinda bland and commercial, lacking that flavour that great Italian food has. The salad was of the house variety and was pretty good I thought, and fresh as well, also couldn't really complain about the breadsticks they're pretty good as well. All in all it was great service and we didn't even have to wait for a table during the busy dinner rush either. But the food was pretty average, and for the price, I think I'll head somewhere else the next time I'm in fort gratiot/port huron.

I say down with this whole concept; packaged sauces nuked to order, in unlimited corporate quantities. C'mon the hometown folks can do this and we wouldn't need to ship all the profits to Peoria or wherever. I mean cooking a frozen burger and shoving out a window in 5 minutes or less is an art form compared to what these weenies are providing. Have you priced a box of pasta lately? All you can eat ? It better be cause I can boil my own way into carbo coma in about 15 minutes for $4, so for $11 you better smile when you drop off my third bowl of linguini. C'mon any half dense entrepreneur should be able to crack this code, why must it be a chain? Carbs and fats = Crack just ask Dr Daniel Amen buy your crack local

We come from London Ontario and frequent the Olive Garden on a regular basis. It is unique as to what is offered here, the prices are great, and we have always had great service. We are big tippers to, but was disappointed to see this article petroliatopic.com/boards…

Without a doubt the worst Olive Garden I have ever been to. The service was poor and slow. Everyone who worked there was rude from the waitress, to the hostess (who swore at me) to the manager. I will never eat at this olive garden again. But the food was typical olive garden, good!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
